The First Early College High School Program in East Texas
IAE is working with Tyler Junior College, the sponsor for the first Early College High School (ECHS) program in East Texas, to provide supplemental education that is focused on preparing students for 21st century jobs.
Early College High Schools (ECHS) are innovative high schools that allow students least likely to attend college an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and 60 college credit hours. The inaugural class at Chapel Hill High School consists of predominantly at risk, economically disadvantaged and often first-generation college goers. Chapel Hill Collegiate provides dual credit at no cost to students, offers rigorous instruction and accelerated courses, provides academic and social support services to help students succeed, increases college readiness, and reduces barriers to college access.
The faculty of Chapel Hill High School recognizes the importance of parental involvement in the program, and the program encourages and endorses parental involvement to achieve student success.
